Luxembourg allows unblocking of assets frozen due to sanctions against Russia's NSD under EU license

MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - Luxembourg's Finance Ministry has allowed the unblocking of assets that were frozen due to sanctions against Russia's National Settlement Depository (NSD).

The permit, which is dated December 16 and posted on the ministry's website, was issued under a corresponding European Union and, like this document, calls for settlements with blocked assets to be completed by January 7, 2023.

"Now we are waiting for a similar permit regarding Euroclear," broker BCS said on its Telegram channel.

BCS was one of the market participants who asked the finance ministries of Belgium and Luxembourg for licenses to unfreeze their clients' assets.
