MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The State Duma has passed at second and third readings a government amendment to the Tax Code to charge diamond miner Alrosa an additional 19 billion rubles of mineral extraction tax in 2023.

"The amount of the tax calculated by taxpayers, in which the RF directly participates and the share of such participation is at least 33%, for the tax period beginning in the period from February 1 to March 31, 2023, inclusive, on mining of natural diamonds at all subsurface resource areas to which licenses have been granted to such organization in accordance with RF legislation on subsurface resources increases by 9,500, expressed in millions of rubles," the amendment says.
