Highland Gold's Darasun recovery plant pours first gold from Talatui field

MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The recovery plant at Highland Gold's Darasun site has poured a first 60 kilograms of gold mined from its Talatui deposit since the open pit there was commissioned in August, the company said.

A crushing facility and 35 units of machinery are currently operating at the Talatui mine. Another 10 units should be added in Q1 2023.

"Talatui is a new stage in the enterprise's development. We plan to increase productivity and we have overhauled the recovery plant with this in mind," said Yevgeny Borovikov, Darasun's managing director.

The Talatui deposit is located in the Trans-Baikal territory's Tungochen district, 12 km from the settlement of Vershino-Darasunsky. Darasun management said in the summer that it was shifting operations from the now uneconomical deep mine at the Darasun deposit to Talatui.

Vyacheslav Sviblov's Highland Gold operates in the Khabarovsk, Trans-Baikal and Kamchatka territories and Chukotka Autonomous District.
