CPC to pump 50-51 mln tonnes of oil in 2022 vs plan of 63 mln tonnes - Transneft head

MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) should pump 50-51 million tonnes of oil in 2022, Transneft president Nikolai Tokarev said during an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel, VGTRK.

"They had planned [to pump] 63 million tonnes, though they are now somewhere around 50 million tonnes, probably 51 million tonnes, for the year," Tokarev said.

Tokarev noted that the CPC has experienced complications in recent months with the supply of equipment and the provision of services in order to repair the marine terminal units.

"The fact is that the suppliers of the equipment are located abroad, someone is in Canada, (...) someone is in America, and all of them in concert have refused to supply spare parts and to provide repair services. In general, we have tried to encourage the consortium's shareholders to become involved in the work as well, because the CPC is not under sanctions, and oil volumes are also not subject to restrictions. However, the effect has unfortunately been nil from all our requests, thus we have had to seek Russian suppliers and contractors, and the operations have been completed," Tokarev said.
