Ukraine imports 500,000 low-capacity generators, needs about 17,000 heavy duty ones to pull through winter - PM

MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - Ukrainian businesses have imported 500,000 low-capacity generators, yet the imports of about 17,000 heavy duty, industrial generators are necessary to pull through the winter, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"Ukrainian small and medium businesses have imported 500,000 low-capacity generators. Yet we need about 17,000 heavy duty, industrial generators to pull through the winter," the Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting on Friday.

The prime minister said he was hoping to meet some of the demand with the assistance of partner states.
