Govt commission approves import substitution roadmaps for software development

MOSCOW. Dec 16 (Interfax) - The governmental commission on digital development has approved the roadmaps titled "New Industrial Software" and "New System-Wide Software" and is aiming at facilitating import substitution in the area of IT solutions, a representative of the office of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said on Friday.

The roadmaps have been compiled within the framework of the Industrial Centers of Competences and Centers of Competences on the Development of System-Wide and Applied Software.

The documents contain projects from Russian companies that are leaders in their sectors of the Russian national economy, including United Shipbuilding Corporation, Kalashnikov Group, Sheremetyevo International Airport, Transmashholding, Rusagro, M.Video , Novatek , Lukoil , and Severstal . The projects envisage software solutions in various environments such as PLM, CAE, CAD, MES, SCADA, CRM, ERP, DBMS, OS, GIS, BIM, EDMC, and others.

"The roadmaps are open in nature: new companies and projects currently in the works may be included in them," the official from Chernyshenko's office said.

According to Chernyshenko, the companies will provide most of the financing for these software development projects.

Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maxim Parshin clarified that work under the projects will continue until 2025, and in some cases, until 2027.
