MOSCOW. Dec 16 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and United States Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt have discussed the reconstruction of the Ukrainian energy system.

"Support from our allies is unwavering. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt and I have discussed how it [the Ukrainian power supply infrastructure] can be restored. Not just repaired, but built based on the Build Back Better principle," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on social media on Friday.

Shmygal thanked the U.S. administration for allocating $53 million to purchase equipment for Ukrainian power grids.

"The first batch of this equipment has already been shipped the other day," he said.
