Putin: creating e-platform for gas trading and new pricing for Europe possible in coming months

MOSCOW. Dec 15 (Interfax) - Russia and Turkey are capable of creating an electronic platform for gas trade over a few months, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting of the Presidential Council on Strategic Development and National Projects.

"Some of the key growing consumers of Russian gas are also our neighbors, including Turkey. Its gas infrastructure has serious potential. In the next few years, we plan to organize a gas hub. But speaking of creating an electronic platform, this can be done within the next few months. And that is where, to a large extent, we will determine the final price for our European consumers, because what they have done on their platforms is madness. And now they are also trying to blame us for what they did with their own hands," he said.

Putin stressed that Russia intends to increase natural gas exports: "Implementation of projects such as the Kovykta field, Power of Siberia 2, the Far Eastern route will make it possible to increase gas supplies to the East to 48 billion cubic meters by 2025, and to 88 billion cubic meters by 2030. In fact, this is more than 60% of gas supplied to the West last year."
