Russia registers 7,833 cases of Covid-19, 57 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Dec 15 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 7,833 new cases of Covid-19 and 57 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.

"Russia has recorded 7,833 new cases of Covid-19, and 1,386 patients have been hospitalized over the day, down 13.8% from the day before," the headquarters said.

Daily morbidity has grown by 301 cases from 7,532 reported on Wednesday. This is the highest daily morbidity seen since October 27. Morbidity spiked on Wednesday from 5,977 infections recorded on Tuesday.

Another 57 patients died from Covid-19 over the day, versus 55 the day before.

"Meanwhile, 7,539 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, down 1.8% from December 14," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 35 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 39, and has remained unchanged in 11.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 21,692,870 cases of Covid-19, including 392,832 deaths and 21,088,668 recoveries.
