Russia's Penza company in partnership with China's FAW wants to launch assembly of electric cars for cabs, carsharing in 2023

SARATOV. Dec 14 (Interfax) - LLC Alfa Tech (Penza) in partnership with China's FAW plans to establish an assembly of electric cars, production of batteries and charging stations at a facility in the city of Engels in the Saratov region, the governor's press service said.

The relevant agreement with the executive director of the Penza-based company, Nikolai Bespalov, was signed by Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin, the press service told Interfax.

"The production is expected to be launched in the second half of 2023. The new plant plans to assemble up to 2,000 electric cars for cabs and carsharing as early as next year. The investor expects to create up to 270 jobs," the press release said.

"In the following years the production is planned to be localized step by step. The experience of our region, where there are already enterprises for the production of batteries, will facilitate this. For its part, the regional government will support the investors," the press service added.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Alfa Tech LLC is owned (directly and via Alfa Logistic LLC) by the company's general director Yekaterina Kartashova. Alfa Tech was registered in 2010 and has a charter capital of 10,000 rubles. The main declared activity is the production of motor vehicles.

Alfa Logistic (trade in cars and trucks) has a charter capital of 15,000 rubles, the company was founded in 2014, and refers to microenterprises.

During 2022, Kartashova established two legal entities: LLC Alfa Energy (maintenance and repair of motor vehicles) and LLC Alfa Point (production of electric batteries and accumulators). The charter capital of both companies is 10,000 rubles, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

FAW (First Automobile Works - Auto Plant No. 1) is a state-owned company founded in 1953 in Changchun, China. It is the oldest Chinese automobile concern, which was established with the assistance of the USSR.
