Self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic restricts freedom to travel, bans strikes

YEREVAN. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Arayik Arutyunyan, president of the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, has signed a decree on measures taken in the situation of martial law in connection with the blocking by Azerbaijan of the motorway leading to Armenia, the press service for the president of the self-proclaimed republic said.

Special-purpose facilities have been put into operation and freedom to travel and the right to freedom of assembly have been restricted, it said.

An operational headquarters, led by State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, has been created.

"The government has been ordered to introduce special procedures for selling, purchasing and turnover of food products, medications and essential goods within a short period of time," the report said.
