Belarusian foreign policy priorities remain unchangeable - new FM

MINSK. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Belarusian foreign policy priorities remain unchangeable, new Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik said.

"Belarusian foreign policy priorities remain unchangeable," the Belarusian state-run news agency BelTA quoted Aleinik as saying.

Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko introduced the new minister to the ministry personnel on Wednesday.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko appointed Aleinik, then first deputy foreign minister, as the new foreign minister on Tuesday.

Aleinik, 57, formerly served as deputy foreign minister, first deputy foreign minister, ambassador to the Vatican, ambassador to the Order of Malta, and ambassador to the United Kingdom.

The previous foreign minister, Vladimir Makei, who was in office since August 20, 2012, died suddenly on November 26.
