Spain to deliver transformers, generators to Ukraine as aid

MOSCOW. Dec 13 (Interfax) - The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation jointly with Red Electrica, a subsidiary of Redeia, have announced the donation of high-voltage electrical equipment to Ukrainian operator Ukrenergo.

This involves a total of 163 items of repaired equipment in perfect condition for electrical substations, the Ukrainian media reported, citing the Spanish Foreign Ministry's website on Tuesday.

In particular, Red Electrica will donate 107 current transformers and 28 voltage transformers, 26 lightning conductors, lightning protection equipment and two disconnecting switches, electro-mechanical equipment which enables mechanical isolation of electrical circuits for repairs. This aid will be provided in addition to the donation of 14 generators provided by the Spanish Cooperation during the visit of Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares to Kiev in November.
