FM Kuleba sees scenario of total blackout in Ukraine as realistic

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has described a scenario when Ukraine could encounter a complete blackout as realistic.

Ukrainian media said, citing Kuleba's interview, the foreign minister believes that generators and transformers are needed to help Ukraine cope with the aftermath of the damage sustained by its power infrastructure facilities.

Kuleba also views a scenario of a total blackout in Ukraine as realistic, but does not expect that residents will leave the country en masse because of the unstable situation this winter. Rather, the minister believes, people will move to the countryside, "where it is possible to heat homes with wood."
