Common scientific space being created in EAEU - Russian Academy of Sciences vice-president

NOVOSIBIRSK. Dec 12 (Interfax) - The Russian Academy of Sciences suggests expanding the practice of joint scientific research conducted by Russia and Belarus to all countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Russian Academy of Sciences Vice-President Vladimir Ivanov said.

"We are already working on the territory of Russia and Belarus, but we plan, we believe it's reasonable to extend this practice to the EAEU and the Eurasian space we have spoken about today. Therefore, we are moving in this direction," Ivanov told reporters at the second international conference Eurasian Transborder Economic and Technological Interactions in Novosibirsk on Monday.

A relevant joint research program is already being drafted, he said.

A joint fundamental research program of Russia and Belarus is also being formed.

"Some work is already being done. Our Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the relevant Belarusian fund are working together. There are some projects in the sphere of outer space development, which are already being implemented in collaboration with the Belarusian side," Ivanov said.
