Russian govt to provide more than 1.4 bln rubles for some projects to process agricultural products

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - The Russian government will provide more than 1.4 billion rubles for the creation and modernization of agricultural products processing facilities, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with his deputies on Monday.

The funds will be used to implement projects in the Volgograd, Kaliningrad and Smolensk regions, he said. They include projects for deep processing of grain and fish and for dry dairy products production.

"Such enterprises are an important part of successful development of the domestic agriculture, a reliable guarantee of the increase of Russia's food security and, of course, provision of our citizens with quality food products. We will continue supporting promising investment projects in the agricultural sector," Mishustin said.

According to the government's Telegram channel, the Volgograd region will receive more than 1.1 billion rubles for the completion of the construction of a plant for deep corn processing. The enterprise will produce starch, starch syrup, corn gluten, and other types of products.

The Kaliningrad region will receive 181.6 million rubles for the construction of a new fish plant workshop. It specializes on the processing and preservation of fish, crustaceans, and molluscs.

The Smolensk region will receive 132.8 million rubles for the construction of an enterprise to produce dry dairy products.
