Ukrnafta initiates unscheduled tax and audit checks

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - PJSC Ukrnafta has initiated unscheduled tax and audit checks of the enterprise, the Ukrainian media said with the reference to the corporate press service.

"The Ukrnafta Supervisory Board has compelled Director Sergei Koretsky to ask the State Tax Service and the State Audit Service of Ukraine for an unscheduled full check," the press service said.

The check will assess the real state of affairs at the enterprise, it said.

As reported earlier, the staff of the supreme commander-in-chief decided on November 5 to seize the stock of Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta (except for the share of Naftogaz of Ukraine), as well as Motor Sich, AvtoKrAZ and Zaporozhtransformator as state property for the period of martial law. That was done on November 6, after the National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine completed the respective procedure.

A general meeting of Ukrnafta shareholders amended the company charter on November 9, 2022, to replace the collective executive body (board) by the sole executive body (director), i.e. Sergei Koretsky.

Ukrnafta holds 85 hydrocarbon development licenses and has 1,809 oil and 153 gas wells on its balance sheet. The company owns 537 gas stations, including 449 operational as of early December 2022.

The controlling stake in Ukrnafta belongs to Naftogaz, while the minority stake (about 42%) was held by Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov's companies before the seizure.
