Gazprom CEO: Gas hub in Turkey main result of meeting with Erdogan
MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - The creation of a gas hub in Turkey was further developed during the visit of a Gazprom delegation to Turkey.
Gazprom CEO Alexei Muller said, answering a question from the press about the main outcomes of the visit to Turkey, "It's the gas hub, of course."
As reported, the Gazprom delegation paid a working visit to Turkey on Friday. Miller met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez during the visit to Istanbul. The parties discussed issues related to supplies of Russian gas to Turkish consumers and the prospects for creating a gas hub in Turkey at the meeting.
As reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin has put forth an initiative to lay additional lines of the Russian gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey and create a gas hub on the border with the European Union that could be an alternative to other gas pricing centers in Europe.
Gazprom supplies gas to Turkey through the Blue Stream and TurkStream offshore pipelines via the Black Sea.
