Russian Foreign Ministry blacklists 200 Canadian citizens

MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has banned 200 Canadian citizens from entering Russia in response to sanctions imposed by Canada on Russians.

"In response to personal sanctions introduced by Ottawa against Russian officials, servicemen, judges, law enforcement officers and public figures, entry will be closed for 200 citizens of Canada on the reciprocity basis," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The sanctioned individuals include high-ranking officials, retired and active members of the parliament, law enforcers, members of the expert community, and activists participating in a number of organizations, it said.
