Zelensky thanks Slovakia for supporting Ukraine's EU ambitions

MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, speaking at a meeting with Slovak Foreign Minister Rastislav Kacer in Kiev, thanked Bratislava for taking in and supporting more than 100,000 Ukrainian displaced persons and for its assistance for Ukraine in receiving European Union candidate status.

"We are grateful to you for your support of our temporarily displaced persons, more than 100,000 of whom are now in your country. We are also grateful to you from the point of view of diplomacy, that you did not hesitate to support us on our path to the EU - in terms of granting EU candidate status to Ukraine," Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying.
