Rosatom to supply uranium products to Brazil
MOSCOW. Dec 7 (Interfax) - A division of Rosatom Group's nuclear materials exporter Tenex, Internexco GmbH has reached an agreement with Industrias Nucleares do Brasil (INB), the Russian state corporation said on Telegram.
The contract covers supplies for Brazil's Angra Nuclear Power Plant in 2023-2027.
"This is the state corporation's first ever long-term contract with Brazil for supplies of enriched uranium products, which opens the door to the largest market for uranium products in the Latin American region," the statement said.
Tenex and the Brazilian company signed a letter of intent in 2019 on joint projects in the area of the nuclear fuel cycle. Russia has also offered Brazil its solutions for the completion of the Angra NPP.
Rosatom first deputy CEO Kirill Komarov said this fall that the state corporation signed 12 new contracts for uranium product supplies this year. "We have concluded 12 new contracts for various supplies of various uranium products with customers from seven countries since the beginning of 2022," he said.
