Capacity deficit in Ukraine's power grid stands at 19% of expected consumption
MOSCOW. Dec 7 (Interfax) - The current deficit in Ukraine's power grid stands at 19% of expected consumption, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.
"The capacity deficit will be persisting in the power grid. It currently stands at 19% of expected consumption," Shmygal said at a government meeting on Tuesday, as reported by the Ukrainian media.
Thirty-five percent of key elements of trunk networks have sustained damage over recent months, he said.
"Power outage schedules are still in effect in the country," Shmygal said.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian media reported that the available power capacity reached 62-67% of typical consumption in Kiev on Tuesday. The media referred to Sergei Kovalenko, head of the YASNO electric power supplier.
"Hopefully, we will be back to stabilization schedules soon," Kovalenko said on a social network.
