Ukraine exports 32.2 mln tonnes of agricultural products since end-Feb - Agrarian Policy Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax) - Ukraine has exported 32.2 million tonnes of grains, pulses, oilseed crops and their products since the end of February 2022, Ukrainian media reported, quoting the Ukrainian Agrarian and Food Policy Ministry's website.

At the same time, the country shipped 5.9 million tonnes of agricultural products in November 2022, which is 1 million tonnes less than in October and September. As for crops, 1.6 million tonnes of wheat (20% less than in October) and 2 million tonnes of corn (13% less) have been shipped from Ukraine over the past month.

In turn, the exports of sunflower oil increased by 8% up to 466,000 tonnes in November compared to the previous month, sunflower seeds by 27% to 377,000 tonnes, soybeans by 67% to 385,000 tonnes, while shipments of rapeseed shrank by almost half to 412,000 tonnes, meal of all kinds by 25% to 344,000 tonnes, soybean oil by 36% to 16,000 tonnes.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, corn accounted for 34.3% of all agricultural exports in November, 26.8% - wheat, 7.9% - sunflower oil, 7.0% - rapeseed, 6.5% - soybeans, 6.4% - sunflower seeds, 5.8% - meal, 5.0% - barley, 0.3% - soybean oil.

Additionally, Ukraine has exported 12.3 million tonnes of corn (38.2% of the total), 7.0 million tonnes of wheat (21.8%), and 2.8 million tonnes of rapeseed (8.6%), 2.8 million tonnes of sunflower oil (8.6%), 2.4 million tonnes of sunflower seeds (7.4%), 1.9 million tonnes of meals (5.8%), 1.5 million tonnes of barley (4.7%), 1.3 million tonnes of soybeans (4.2%) and 168,000 tonnes of soybean oil (0.5%) for the past nine months of the crisis.

As reported, Ukraine exported 6.9 million tonnes of agricultural products in October and September, 4.6 million tonnes in August, 3.0 million tonnes in July, 2.7 million tonnes in June, 1.74 million tonnes in May, 0.96 million tonnes in April, and 0.33 million tonnes in March.

Before February 2022, Ukraine exported an average of 5-6 million tonnes of agricultural products every month, mainly via its maritime infrastructure in the Black Sea.
