Lukoil wins auctions for two Taimyr blocks for almost 50 mln rubles

MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax) - Lukoil has won auctions for the Yuzhno-Ushakovsky and Yuzhno-Payutsky blocks in northern Krasnoyarsk Territory and will pay almost 50 million rubles for them, Russia's Natural Resources Ministry told Interfax.

"The winner of the Yuzhno-Ushakovsky and Yuzhno-Payutsky resource blocks was Lukoil-Western Siberia. The final payment is 10.054 million rubles for Yuzhno-Ushakovsky and 39.879 million rubles for Yuzhno-Payutsky," a spokesman for the ministry said.

The other bidders for both blocks were JSC Norilskgazprom and Krasnoyarsk Oil and Gas Company LLC.

The 1,870-square-km Yuzhno-Payutsky block has forecast D1 and D2 gas resources of, respectively, 92.4 billion cubic meters and 40 bcm; D1 and D2 oil resources of 4 million tonnes and 2.5 million tonnes; and D1 and D2 condensate resources of 0.8 million tonnes and 0.2 million tonnes. The starting price for the license was 18.127 million rubles.

The 1,216-square-km Yuzhno-Payutsky block has forecast D1 and D2 gas resources of, respectively, 39.8 billion cubic meters and 9.9 bcm; and D1 and D2 condensate resources of 0.4 million tonnes and 0.1 million tonnes. The starting price was 4.57 million rubles.

The northern part of Krasnoyarsk Territory has become very attractive for oil and gas companies in recent years. The Natural Resources Ministry and Federal Subsurface Resources Agency have repeatedly said that a new oil province is forming in this undeveloped region that could be comparable to the Yamal Peninsula. The area is also eligible for Arctic preferences approved at the federal level in 2020.

The oil and gas resources of northern Krasnoyarsk Territory are also expected to be one of the drivers of growth of cargo traffic along the Northern Sea Route.
