CHISINAU. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Moldova must pay $43.84 million to Gazprom by December 20, Vadim Cheban, head of Moldovagaz, said on his Telegram channel.

Of this amount, $40.05 million is the gas debt for November, and $3.79 million is for the first few days of December.

Cheban noted that Moldova in November purchased 101.8 million cubic meters of gas from Russia at a price of $815.01 per 1,000 cubic meters, and since the beginning of December totaling 10.2 million cubic meters at $742.13 per 1,000 cubic meters.

At the end of last week, the authorities of the republic decided to give the entire volume of gas purchased from Gazprom to the unrecognized Transnistria, where the Moldavskaya GRES will generate electricity using the gas as fuel. Moldova itself will take gas from its reserves, which currently total around 250 million cubic meters, purchased at an average price of about $1,000 per 1,000 cubic meters.
