Toyota plant in Russia being mothballed, NAMI not considering its purchase - Industry and Trade Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 1 (Interfax) - The Toyota plant in St. Petersburg is at the stage of being mothballed, and the federal state unitary enterprise NAMI, under the Industry and Trade Ministry, is not considering its purchase, the ministry's press service told Interfax.

"In terms of the authority of the Industry and Trade Ministry, we inform that after the stoppage of manufacturing, the plant is being mothballed; however, possible options for developing the manufacturing site are being worked out together with the St. Petersburg government. It should be noted that at present, federal state unitary enterprise NAMI, under the Industry and Trade Ministry, is not considering the purchase of the Toyota plant in St. Petersburg," the Industry and Trade Ministry said.
