Ukrainian govt permits sale of 'green' energy at auctions

MOSCOW. Dec 1 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has allowed the sale of electricity from alternative sources, along with electricity from other producers, under bilateral contracts at auctions held as a continuous bilateral auction.

According to Ukrainian media, the government's decision is backed up by its November 25, 2022 resolution on amendments to the procedure for conducting electronic auctions for the sale of electricity under bilateral contracts.

"The sale of electricity produced from alternative energy sources under bilateral contracts can be carried out at auctions held in the continuous bilateral format," the document published on the government's website said.

A continuous bilateral auction is an auction where an unlimited number of sellers and buyers can participate in simultaneously, provided that they comply with the requirements of the auction rules.
