Ukraine quits number of agreements with CIS and Belarus

MOSCOW. Nov 30 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved the country's withdrawal from the agreement on guarantees of the rights of citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries in the field of pension coverage.

The decision to quit the aforementioned agreement, which was signed in Moscow on March 13, 1992, was adopted at a government meeting on Tuesday, Ukrainian media said, citing the government's representative to the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk.

Furthermore, the government terminated the agreement with Belarus on cooperation in the peaceful exploration and use of outer space, Ukrainian media said, citing Melnichuk. The agreement was signed in Kiev on June 12, 2009.
