Lvov, Odessa National Operas win Opera Company of Year 2022 award in International Opera Awards - Culture Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - The Lvov and Odessa National Operas have won the Opera Company of the Year 2022 award at The International Opera Awards, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Ukrainian Culture Ministry.

"This is the highest recognition in the world of opera art from our colleagues. Both theaters have produced world premieres of Ukrainian operas this fall," Deputy Culture Minister Galina Grigorenko said.

The Opera Company Award was presented jointly to the two companies for the first time in history.

The International Opera Awards is an international award in the opera genre, which has been awarded annually since 2013. The award was founded by British businessman, philanthropist and opera admirer Harry Hyman and Opera magazine editor John Allison in 2013.
