Power shortage in Ukrainian energy system reaches 30% - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - The power shortage in the Ukrainian energy system was 30% on Tuesday morning against 27% on Monday morning, Ukrainian media quoted grid operator Ukrenergo as saying on Telegram.

"The increased power shortage was caused by outages at several power plants on Monday morning, as well as a further consumption growth due to deteriorating weather conditions," the company said.

Ukrenergo is bringing in consumption limits for each regional operator to impose.

DTEK Kiev Networks said on Tuesday that there were blackouts in Kiev, and the stabilization shutdown schedules drawn up earlier were not valid.

There were emergency blackouts across Ukraine on November 23. The power shortage dropped to 50% on Thursday evening, to 30% on Friday morning, 25% on Saturday morning and 20% on Sunday morning.
