Ukraine's soybean exports reach three-year high - APK-Inform

MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - Ukraine has exported 465,000 tonnes of soybeans since the start of the 2022/2023 season (September-August), 150% more than in the same period of last year and the highest figure in three years, Ukrainian media reported, citing Ukrainian information agency APK-Inform.

Soybean exports in October alone totaled 215,000 tonnes, which was down 14% from the previous month but up 24% year-on-year. One of the reasons for the drop in exports in October was the slowdown of commerce at Ukrainian seaports, the agency said.

The main importers of soybeans from Ukraine since the start of the current season, accounting for 46% and 37%, respectively, were the European Union and Turkey, which increased imports of Ukrainian soybeans by, respectively, six times and two times year-on-year.

Ukraine had harvested 3.6 million tonnes of soybeans from 1.5 million hectares, or 97% of the planted area as of November 25. The average yield was 2.4 tonnes per ha.
