Importing agrochemicals to Russia via any checkpoint extended until July 1, 2023 - decree

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Importing pesticides and agrochemicals to Russia via any checkpoint has been extended until July 1, 2023, according to the corresponding decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 28, 2022.

The document has been posted on the government's official portal of legal information, and it has amended the decree "On the temporary procedure for importing pesticides and agrochemicals into the Russian Federation" dated April 18, 2022. The permit was originally valid until July 1, 2022, and then it was extended until December 31, 2022.

The decree enters into force as of the date of its signing.

As reported in the explanatory note, the goal of the measure is "to level the negative consequences of 'unfriendly', and contrary to international law, actions of the United States and foreign states and international organizations that have joined the USA, as related to implementing restrictive measures against citizens of the Russian Federation and Russian legal entities, in order to protect the national interests of the Russian Federation to provide pesticides and agrochemicals".

Importing pesticides and agrochemicals to Russia was previously permitted only through 20 checkpoints.
