Advisor to Naftogaz on international issues steps down

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Svetlana Zalischuk, a former member of parliament, has stepped down from the position of advisor to the CEO of Naftogaz Ukraine on international issues three weeks after Alexei Chernyshov replaced Yury Vitrenko as chief executive of the company.

"Last week I concluded my work at Naftogaz, where I worked on international issues for the past 18 months," Ukrainian media reported Zalischuk as saying on social media. She said she saw her job as "countering Russia in the energy sector."

Zalischuk said she will announce her future plans at a later date.

Zalischuk joined Naftogaz in May 2021, a month after Vitrenko was appointed CEO. She previously served as a foreign policy advisor to the prime minister and deputy prime minister on European and Euro-Atlantic integration. While serving as an MP of the eighth congress, she headed the subcommittee on Euro-Atlantic cooperation and European integration, as well as a member of the Ukrainian delegations at the Parliamentary Assembly for the Council of Europe and the parliamentary committee for association with the European Union.
