Ukraine's MHP continues to boost poultry exports in Oct

MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - Agro and industrial holding MHP, the largest producer of poultry in Ukraine, boosted production 1% month-on-month in October 2022 to 59,610 tonnes, while sales fell 2% to 62,360 tonnes, the Ukrainian media reported, citing a filing posted by the group on the London Stock Exchange.

Poultry production was down 12% year-on-year in October, while sales were up 11% year-on-year.

The company exported 37,690 tonnes of poultry in October, up 6% from September and 18% from October 2021. Poultry accounted for 60% of export sales in October, up 4 percentage points from September and 3 pp from October 2021.

Sales on the domestic market fell 11% month-on-month to 24,670 tonnes of chicken meat, but rose 2% compared to October of last year.

Average sale price remained the same in October as in September at $1.93 per kilogram compared to $1.7 per kilogram in October 2021.

Sales of processed meat products and convenience food fell 9% month-on-month and 40% year-on-year to 2,970 tonnes.

Sales of sunflower oil dropped 71% month-on-month and 51% year-on-year to 12,800 tonnes, while sales of soybean oil rose 81% month-on-month and 86% year-on-year to 7,380 tonnes.

MHP raised poultry production 2% month-on-month to 59,230 tonnes in September and boosted exports 9% to 35,630 tonnes.

MHP is the largest producer of chicken in Ukraine. It also produces grains, sunflower oil, and processed meat products. The founder and majority shareholder of MHP is Ukrainian businessman Yury Kosyuk.
