UK provides 3 mln pounds for rebuilding Ukraine's vital local infrastructure - Foreign Secretary Cleverly

MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - United Kingdom Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has announced a further 3 million pounds in support for the Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine to rebuild vital local infrastructure, the UK government said.

"The UK stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine. I have today announced a package of hands-on support for our Ukrainian friends," Ukrainian media quoted Cleverly's statement circulated by the UK government press service.

Additionally, Cleverly and UK Environment Secretary Therese Coffey announced that London announced that the UK is committing 5 million pounds to a Ukrainian-led initiative to supply grain to countries most at risk of famine.

Ukrainian media said President Vladimir Zelensky thanked the UK government and public for supporting Ukraine.

"We are thankful to the British government and public for supporting Ukraine," Zelensky said at a meeting with Cleverly in Kiev on Friday.

"We truly are friends," Zelensky said.
