Russian Justice Ministry puts Meta on register of extremist organizations
MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - Meta, designated as an extremist organization and banned in Russia, has been put on the respective register of the Russian Justice Ministry.
The list of civil and religious organizations designated as liquidated or banned by valid court orders on the grounds envisaged by the Federal Law on the Countering of Extremism dated July 25, 2022, is available on the ministry's website. The list was updated on Friday.
"The U.S. transnational holding Meta Platforms Inc. distributing social network products, Facebook and Instagram (a ruling by Moscow's Tverskoi District Court dated 21.03.2022 and an appeal ruling by the Judicial Board for Civil Cases of the Moscow City Court dated 20.06.2022)," paragraph 96 says.
