Russian system software developers can receive up to 50% of their earnings from exports - Deputy PM Chernyshenko

MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - The government is expecting Russian system software developers to receive up to 50% of their earnings from exports, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

"System software and fairly universal systems, such as ERP [enterprise resource planning] and CAD/CAM systems [computer assisted design/computer aided manufacturing] have large export potential. We are expecting to receive up to 50% of Russian vendors' revenue on foreign markets. As for niche solutions, such as those for oil extraction, things will be more difficult, so we are expecting 15%," Chernyshenko told reporters on the sidelines of the AI Journey conference on Thursday.

The Russian market cannot be "closed or autocratic," Chernyshenko said. "Therefore, in a good sense, we are doomed to go to other countries and provide real competition to recognized international majors, by achieving our fair role in the international market," he said.
