AI implementation in Russia's economy to bring 1-trln-ruble effect in coming years - Deputy PM Chernyshenko

MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - The implementation of artificial intelligence in various sectors of the Russian economy will bring a 1-trillion-ruble effect in the coming years, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

"We are definitely expecting an increase of, well, exactly 1 trillion rubles in the economy thanks to artificial intelligence on the horizon of a couple of years," Chernyshenko said at a business breakfast of the Artificial Intelligence Journey international conference on Thursday.

The AI implementation level nears 20% in medium-sized and big companies in certain industries, Chernyshenko said, adding that the implementation had been the most active in transport.

Chernyshenko said earlier that the overall contribution of Russian companies using AI technologies in the national GDP topped 22 trillion rubles in 2021. In his words, the annual GDP growth from AI implementation will reach 1%-2% in the foreseeable future.
