Ukrainian banking system remains stable - NBU

MOSCOW. Nov 23 (Interfax) - The banking system remains stable despite the damage caused to Ukraine's energy infrastructure on Wednesday, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said.

Ukrainian media reported that the regulator is maintaining constant communication with the banks and is taking measures for the normal operation of banking institutions.

The information systems, the system of electronic payments of the National Bank continue to operate, and the banks are connected to it and can make payments to customers.

Besides, the payment cards are serviced, non-cash settlements are operating in the normal mode, access of citizens to their funds is provided, in particular, via operating ATMs and cash desks of the bank offices.

The National Bank emphasized that it would be ready to promptly back up the banks with cash if necessary.
