Most Russians want Russia to participate in G20 summits - poll

MOSCOW. Nov 23 (Interfax) - More than half of Russians (57%) believe that Russia should participate in G20 summits, according to a poll conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) published on its official website on Wednesday.

Responding to the sociologists' question as to why Moscow should participate in these forums, the respondents mentioned the possibility of defending Russia's position on the global stage and addressing issues that are in Russia's interests.

The poll also shows that 16% of the respondents believe Russia should not participate in G20 summits. According to FOM data, these respondents said, supporting their contention, that "it is useless, it doesn't give anything, they don't hear us" and "Russia is a self-sufficient country, we can solve everything ourselves."

Twenty-seven percent of the respondents were undecided on whether Russia should participate in G20 summits.

The poll was conducted on November 11-13, 2022 in 104 populated areas in 53 regions across Russia. It surveys 1,500 respondents aged 18 and older.
