Coronavirus incidence rate up in 40 regions of Russia - HQ

MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - Russia's incidence rate of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population increased by 0.3% over the past week, with 40 constituent parts of the country having seen an increase in the number of cases, the coronavirus operative response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"The incidence rate of novel coronavirus infection cases per 100,000 population stood at 24.78 last week, up by 0.3% week-on-week. The incidence rate increased in 40 constituent territories of Russia, including an increase higher than the national average in 12 regions," it said.

The rate of coronavirus-related hospitalizations per 100,000 population last week was 4.8, down by 6.3% compared to the previous week. The number of hospitalizations per 100,000 people grew in 26 federal entities, including an increase above the national average in 12 of them, it said.

Russia has recorded a total of 21,540,891 Covid-19 cases, 391,509 related deaths, and 20,948,088 recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
