Ukrainian govt approves $4.5-bln grant from IBRD, IDA- PM Shmygal

MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved a $4.5-billion grant to be received from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA), Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"We are making two decisions today that can help us receive an additional $4.5-billion grant from the IBRD and the IDA," the Ukrainian government quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting on Friday.

These funds are part of a large project to ensure sustainable governance in Ukraine, they will be spent on payments to public sector employees, including teachers and doctors, and on benefits to disabled and internally displaced persons, he said.
