Education and Science Ministry asks European partners to support Ukraine within Erasmus+, eTwinning, Eurydice Network programs

MOSCOW. Nov 18 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science has asked partners in European Union countries to support Ukraine's education system as part of the Erasmus+, eTwinning and Eurydice Network projects.

"During the visit to Brussels, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andrei Vitrenko met with European Commission Director-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture Themis Christophidou," Ukrainian media said, citing the ministry's press service said.

Vitrenko invited European partners to support an initiative to facilitate the Ukrainian education system's comprehensive integration into the European education space, including conducting joint systemic analytical studies to consider making Ukraine, which is today the EU Erasmus+ education, training, youth and sport program's partner country, a participant in this program.

A proposal was also put forth to provide Ukraine with an individual "financing window" for higher and vocational education as part of the Erasmus+ program, to permit Ukrainian teachers and educational establishments to take part in the eTwinning program and to include Ukraine in the Eurydice Network European educational information system.
