Over 11 mln tonnes of Ukrainian food products exported under Istanbul grain deal

NEW YORK, UN. Nov 17 (Interfax) - Eight bulkers carrying agricultural products left Ukrainian ports on Wednesday, the Joint Coordination Center (JCC) said.

"The Joint Coordination Center (JCC) reports that eight vessels left Ukrainian ports today [on November 16] carrying a total of 277,114 metric tonnes of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the center said.

In particular, the Nord Vind vessel, chartered by the World Food Organization, is transporting 25,000 tonnes of wheat intended for Ethiopia.

The Eleni M vessel with 41,540 tonnes of wheat on board and the Amber S carrying 44,194 tonnes of wheat are both heading to Italy. The Plutus (13,000 tonnes of rapeseed) and the Noran (7,124 tonnes of soya beans) are on their way to Turkey.

The Mim Vangelis Jr bulker is heading to China with 66,756 tonnes of corn on board, the Abilene is carrying 51,500 tonnes of rapeseed to the Netherlands, and the Paralos is carrying 28,000 tonnes of wheat to Spain.

Three inbound vessels transited the maritime humanitarian corridor on November 16 under the Black Sea Grain Initiative heading towards Ukrainian ports, the JCC said.

There are currently 67 vessels waiting to move into Ukrainian ports, the center said. Moreover, 16 loaded vessels are waiting for inspection in Turkish territorial waters.

"As of 16 November, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 11,087,388 metric tonnes. A total of 932 voyages (470 inbound and 462 outbound) have been enabled so far," the JCC said.
