Ukraine increases electricity export revenue by 150% in Jan-Oct 2022 - Customs Service

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax) - Ukraine increased revenue from electricity exports by 150% (by $326.927) to $542.514 million in January-October 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, the State Customs Service said.

Ukrainian media reported with reference to estimates by the agency's experts that Ukraine exported $148.121 million worth of electricity to Poland, $141.08 million to Slovakia, $118.268 million to Romania, and $135.045 to other countries taken together in the first ten months of 2022.

In October alone, Ukraine's revenue from electricity exports amounted to $113.399 million compared to $26.364 million in October 2021.

In addition, Ukraine imported $148.888 million worth of electricity in January-October 2022 compared to $63.005 million in the same period in 2021. This figure includes $100.414 million worth of electricity imported from Belarus in January and February 2022, $30.714 million from Belgium, $14.132 million from Moldova, and $3.628 million from other countries.

Ukraine imported $15.31 million worth of electricity in October 2022 compared to $0.387 million in October 2021.

As reported earlier, Ukraine had reduced revenue from electricity exports by 8.5% (by $23.89 million) to $256.941 million in 2021 compared to 2020. Ukraine also imported $87.345 million worth of electricity in 2021 compared to $131.605 million in 2020.

Ukraine reduced electricity exports by 26.5% (by 1.259 billion kW/h) to 3.495 billion kW/h and imports by 25.9% (by 591.3 million kW/h) to 1.694 billion kW/h in 2021 compared to 2020.
