Bailiffs recovering from Meta more than 2 bln rubles in fines

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax) - Russian bailiffs have opened another case against the company Meta (recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia) seeking to recover a fine in the amount of four million rubles for refusal to delete content prohibited in Russia.

According to the database of the Federal Bailiff Service, the new enforcement proceedings were initiated based on a decision made by Judicial District 422 of Moscow's Tagansky District on August 1, 2022. It brought the total amount bailiffs intend to recover from Meta to some 2,008 billion rubles.

Earlier this year, the agency opened a case seeking to recover from Meta several fines handed down by courts, including a revenue-based fine in an amount of 1.9 billion rubles for repeated refusal to delete content prohibited in Russia.
