Russia gives loan to Belarus for import-substitution projects

MINSK. Nov 16 (Interfax) - Belarus and Russia have signed an intergovernmental agreement on a 105-billion-ruble loan for Belarusian import-substitution projects, the Belarusian government's press service said on Wednesday.

"An intergovernmental agreement has been signed to lend 105 billion Russian rubles to Belarus for import-substitution projects. The document was signed today by the Belarusian and Russian finance ministers," the press service said.

The joint import-substitution projects will be implemented in Belarus, it said.

"The sides have confirmed their readiness to start financing 12 projects," the press service said.
