French NGO Open Press designated undesirable in Russia - Prosecutor General's Office

MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has designated the French NGO Open Press as undesirable in Russia.

"The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has decided to declare the activity of the foreign non-governmental organization Open Press (France) undesirable in Russia," the agency said on Monday.

Russian prosecutors believe that the activity of this organization "poses a threat to the fundamentals of the Russian constitutional system and security."

"The information about this decision has been relayed to the Russian Justice Ministry for being added to the list of foreign and international non-governmental organizations the activity of which has been declared undesirable in the territory of the Russian Federation and for being made public," it said.
