China donates about 5 mln doses of coronavirus vaccine to Belarus in 2021-2022
MINSK. Nov 14 (Interfax) - China donated about 5 million doses of coronavirus vaccine to Belarus in 2021-2022, in addition to over 4.6 million vaccine doses purchased by Belarus, the Belarusian Health Ministry said on Monday.
"In all, China donated about 5 million vaccine doses to Belarus as humanitarian aid in 2021-2022, this batch included. Belarus purchased over 4.6 million vaccine doses more on its own. The gratis assistance provided by China since April 2020 is currently equivalent to $25 million. Belarus has been provided with personal protective equipment and medical and diagnostic hardware," the ministry said.
China is a leading strategic partner of Belarus in many areas, Belarusian Health Minister Dmitry Pinevich said as a document on the delivery of another batch of Chinese humanitarian aid - 2 million doses of the Vero Cell vaccine and 2 million disposable syringes - was signed in Minsk on Monday.
