Russia sees 5,554 new Covid-19 cases, 67 related deaths in past day - HQ

MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 5,554 new cases of coronavirus and 67 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"Russia registered 5,554 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,248 hospitalizations in the past day, up 7.1% from the day before," the headquarters said.

The number of coronavirus-related hospitalizations grew in 39 Russian constituent territories, decreased in 32, and remained unchanged in 14, it said.

The daily number of new Covid-19 cases decreased slightly from 5,594 reported on Thursday. Figures for new infections per day remain at the level recorded in late July.

There were 67 coronavirus-related deaths in the past 24 hours, and 61 the day before.

"Another 6,213 patients have recovered over the past day, down 18.5% from November 10," the headquarters said.

Russia's total Covid-19 caseload since the start of the pandemic currently stands at 21,489,114, including 390,896 deaths and 20,892,138 recoveries.
